As you know, I am rather new to the Longhorn family. However, I realized early on how deeply my loyalty ran for my new home.
I was faced with the question “Why didn’t you go to Texas Tech?” within my first weeks of competing here. I looked up and, without any hesitation, said, “Horns Up, Guns Down, Stop the Violence” . In that moment I realized— there is no place I’d rather be and no other fan base I’d rather cater to.
This line is homage to the UT- Austin family and a tribute to a deep-seated rivalry between two accredited programs. Beyond that, it’s meant to shed light on the senseless gun violence that terrorizes our communities. It’s time we put the guns down.
#HornsUp.
